I like your goals! I didn’t set any specific ones this year - but yours seem quite reasonable. 🙂

Some years don't need goals! They seem reasonable, but I've never managed to read all the books I buy in a single year, so we'll see if this year it works :)

Me either. And I'm a heavy, heavy library user, so I feel like I usually buy about 9? And I can't even read all of those haha

I don't know why it's so hard!

Will be interested to hear how buying books only in bookstores works for you and how reading everything you buy this year turns out. I feel like I half heartedly make that goal every year and never succeed. Haha.

Also is it weird I love when people have books I would never be interested in on their favorites list? I love that we can all love books and not the same ones!

We will see how both goals go! I think I have done the same thing - only sort of made reading what I buy a goal - but never made it the most important goal, so it's the easiest one to give up. I'm excited to see how things go!

After reading this, I’ve decided to also try to read in the year I buy too! Thanks for the great idea.

I ended the year stronger than I started, I think? Our only overlaps that I see are God of the Woods, which I quite loved, and Ministry of Time, which is technically a 2025 book (finished it just the other day). I love a novel that sticks with me. Can't wait to trade recs next week! <3

I liked both of those a lot. Ministry of Time was such a good surprise of a novel. Honestly, I think any of the books in my "honorable mention" list could have gotten bumped into the favorites list, and I wouldn't feel bad about it. And yes, I am looking forward to chatting next week!
